A very warm welcome to the Catholic Church of St Gregory, Weld Bank, Chorley

The Catholic Parish of St. Gregory in Weld Bank was established in 1774. Our patron saint is depicted in the new 'millennium window' above, showing Pope Gregory I sending St. Augustine and his 40 holy monks to spread the 'Good News', evangelizing the British Isles in the sixth century.

Our magnificent church is sited at the end of Weldbank Lane in its own beautifully maintained grounds. There is a large churchyard - an area of peace and tranquillity which you are most welcome to visit.

As a parish community we are actively involved and always seeking to develop our ministry and deepen our personal commitment to the Christian life. New parishioners are most welcome and encouraged to participate in all areas of parish life. Please refer to the details of some of our parish groups in the 'Get Involved' section.

We are served by two excellent schools: St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, and Holy Cross High School.

You are cordially invited to meet with us at one of our Sunday Masses - 9.30am & 6:30pm

Marriage, baptism and other celebrations can be arranged.

Father Graeme is available at the priest's house adjacent to the church.
